Welcome to Hello Alexander Technique (H.A.T.)!

Life is Movement

The Alexander Technique (AT) is a scientific, educational method, which uses a series of principles that when embodied, allows one to have a full kinesthetic experience and a more meaningful relationship to one’s artistry. AT, or the “work” as it’s often called, is powerful because it is a method of “thinking” in activity which cultivates greater efficiency in movement, and a reduction in pain and discomfort.

Awareness is the well of boundless potential.

Master Classes and Lessons—Experience the Work

Virtual online Lessons are designed to introduce new students to the principles of the AT. Current students of the work can benefit from a different perspective.

Virtual online Workshops and Master Classes are an effective way of reaching larger groups: Topics range from Introductory AT Work, Body Mapping (crucial to understanding how your body actually moves), Experiential Learning Activities, and Master classes designed for any aspects of the performing arts. Actually, any activity can benefit from AT Work.

“Life is movement. The more life there is, the more flexibility there is. The more fluid you are, the more you are alive.” – Arnaud Desjardins

“I’m a definite cheerleader for Dr. Hensel’s Alexander technique classes.  My students always have posture and tension issues—what pianist doesn’t?—-and Larry gave us a dynamite class.  The philosophies and thinking strategies he showed us were immediately and immensely helpful.  There is no one who would not benefit from exposure to his classes.”
